Austen House, a Your Chapter home specialising in caring for young males who have been criminally exploited to operate in gangs and also at risk of being radicalised, has been rated as ‘Outstanding in all areas’ with ‘no requirements’ following an official inspection from Ofsted, the independent watchdog.

Ofsted commented: “Young people thrive as a result of the care that they receive from an enthusiastic and highly committed staff team. Staff view young people as an extension of their own family and take immense pride in all of their achievements, no matter how small.”

A young person told the inspector, ‘Ever since I was a kid I just wanted to be loved and cared for and be normal, and now I am.’

Austen House home manager and the senior management team from Your Chapter are delighted with the outcome and to have achieved the ‘Outstanding’ rating. Commenting, Tayub Ahmed, Regional Manager at Your Chapter said: “The whole team go above and beyond to deliver an outstanding service to the children in our care every day, they are kept at the heart of everything we do.  We are delighted that this was officially recognised by Ofsted.”

Virginia Perkins, CEO at Your Chapter’s added: “The report, which includes so many positive comments from our children, is testament to the quality of staff and services across the group. It’s been a challenging year but the inspection highlighted the excellent work we have done with the children in our care, where we received some amazing feedback from children, staff, families and local authorities. All credit goes to the homes management team who made the home what it is today, well done.”
